Musicals took 36% of Korea’s top 50 performances in week 44 of 2026, up from 26% the previous week. That 10 percentage point gain put 18 musicals in the ranking, although popular music remained the largest category with 28 entries.

Musicals climb, concerts still lead

Rebecca ranked second overall, Frozen fourth and Elisabeth seventh. Popular music held seven of the top 10 places, led by NMIXX’s Incheon finale at No. 1. Concerts by Lee Seung-yoon in Goyang and Kyuhyun in Seoul placed third and fifth.

The remaining four places in the top 50 went to two plays, one dance performance and one classical music performance. The leading genre’s share rose from 54% to 56%, showing that musicals gained ground within a ranking still led by popular music.

New entries reshape the chart

Thirty-five productions entered the top 50 during the week, including the NMIXX, Lee Seung-yoon and Kyuhyun shows. Six productions moved up the ranking and eight moved down.

Seven of the top 10 performances were in Seoul. The other three were in Incheon, Goyang and Daegu, with Lee Mujin’s tour concert taking the Daegu spot at No. 10.
